DoE Fire Service Course
11 cadets completed a six week fire service course with North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service. This is for their community service part of their Duke of Edinburgh award.
The course included lectures and also practical activities using a fire engine which is exclusive used for such courses.
The cadet all had a go at using the hoses, carrying out a seach in smoked filled rooms using thermal imaging cameras, and climbed the training towers.

Cadet Promotions
January saw Cdt Brook, Cpl Goff and Sgt Minney promoted up the ranks.
Cpl Brook has been a member of the Squadron since April 2006 and takes part in the majority of activities that the Sqn gets involved with.
Flt Lt Ireland presented the new stripes on final parade in front of the Sqn and congratulated both FS Minney, Sgt Goff and Cpl brook on their achievements.

Get Packing!
Keighley Squadron has joined in with the Corps wide bag packing fundraising drive. Over 20 cadets showed up in force at the local Sainsburys supermarket. This activity proved a success and raised over £250 for HQ Air Cadets.
